Update #65 from Danielle

Hey everyone!

As you know, Steve is now taking steps on his own in physical therapy. He is supported with a standing prop on wheels with the therapists by his side. It can be a little hard to picture this, so I decided to take a video of him this morning to share. He continues to amaze and impress me everyday with his full determination and patience. Go Steve!!! =)

PS: You may have to tilt your head to see the video more clear. Sorry!

Thanks, Danielle. Even though I've seen Steve do this, watching your video took my breath away! For those of you who don't know, the man in front of Steve is Tim (the therapist he sees every day), the man in blue is Tim, and the man behind Steve is Mike. They are his therapists and his cheerleaders...amazing, hard working, wonderful supporters of Steve and our whole family! We are so thankful for them.

"Yeah, Come on"!!!!! Way to go Steve. When we saw you 1 week after the accident, I know we all hoped and prayed that weekend for a full recovery, but I don't think that anyone in their wildest dreams could have imagined that in 3 short (that seem like an eternity), months that you would be moving, trying to talk let alone walk. It is truly a miracle, we keep you in our thought and prayers, and will be there to see you in a few short days. I know the kids are looking forward to it and they want to meet Danielle. We will see you sometime on Saturday, later in the morning. Lots of love, Hugs, kisses, prayers and anticipation...(Aunt) Cheryl, Uncle Rick, Alyssa, Alexis and Ryan

Hey Steve,
Way to go!!! I looked up the word "awe" because you continuously leave us all in awe and wonderment. The def is: refers to a feeling or profound respect or wonder, inspired by greatness and granduer of a person...That my dear is how we all feel when we see and hear all the good news that comes daily.
Please continue to leave us in "awe and wonderment" it is an awesome place to be!!!!
We try to understand how much hardwork and endurance each victory takes and we pray everyday will be easier for you.
Lots-o-Love

Hi Everyone! Thanks Danielle for taking the wonderful video--it was a pleasure to tilt my head :-). We keep abreast of things though the progress reports and from Kyla. We have Steve, you Danielle, his family and his staff members, all in our prayers every day. We have included the other patients too, from Rob's comments the other day. Keep up all your good work! Love, Carolyn & Bill Newman

A young man stands strong against all odds
For all the world to see
Fully untested until this time
A hero to you and me

A young man has carried a heavy weight
Of hope and dreams for all
A young man has shown the entire world
What it means to stand proud and tall

God protect this brave young lad
Guide him to the soft road home
For life is indeed the most special gift
And a young man is meant to roam

A young man stands strong against all odds
His strength for all to see
We read his story and speak out loud
Of the young man we'd be honored to be

That is actually the first time I've seen you since last summer when we were watching the Wings and Pistons at the bar. I hope you're watching them this playoff run! Everyday seems so boring and uneventful for me these days, but then I come home and read this blog and see the video, and I realize how lucky I am to have the life I have. Steve, you are truly inspiring. Keep up the hard work so by this time next summer we can go out and watch the games again!
