God our Father hear our prayer, hear us God the Son, Holy Spirit hear our prayer, have mercy on your people Lord.

Heavenly Father we ask that your Spirit guides the surgeons hands tomorrow. Allow for a swift and sucessfull surgery. Embrace team Percha with your love and Grace. Give them the added strength for a long day.

AMEN.

Linda,

We are on our knees tonight sending our thoughts and prayers to Steve praying that God's guiding hands lead the surgeons through a successful and uneventful process. We will be thinking only of you as our day progresses. Please let Steve know that he is in our hearts.

Linda,

What time is surgery and what is the "anticipated" recovery window? How long with this procedure keep Steve off his feet? Does the procedure take priority over the swallow test or will that go ahead as scheduled?

Thanks,
Rick

They took Steve to pre-op around 6 AM, surgery started at 7:30. They predict it will last for 3 hours, he'll spend a day in the neuro ICU, then 2 days on the neuro floor for observation, then back to rehab floor on Monday. They'll position the bone flap and secure it with plates and screws...instantly no more helmet. A huge thumbs up from Steve! We're taking suggestions about what to do with it - so far have pinata, planter, burn it, run it over with his car!

He loses a few days of therapy, but they expect he'll be back on track Tuesday. Dr. Sullivan is the surgeon. We had a chance to speak with all involved this morning, and feel very confident about this and them. Steve was a little nervous, but very ready. Listened to his I-Pod while waiting. We'll keep you posted!

Many prayers coming your way from the choir folks, I'm sure. I like the planter idea for the helmet as a symbol of new beginnings, nurturing, growth, and full bloom.

God bless,
Jerry

Steve and Team,
We continue to pray and look forward to hearing the great news later today.
I vote for the planter too!

Dear Steve,

You have many, many prayers and positive thoughts coming your way from me and Uncle Don and everyone else on the "Team". As I said before, you are just amazing. You have such a positive attitude and are truly an inspiration to us all.

Love you lots!!

Aunt Gail

P.S. I have a couple of ideas for the helmet. How about a lopsided bowling ball or better yet, a bird house. Let those birds do a number on it!!
